Shock and Awe - The Jesus Experience
Questions to Go Deeper in your Faith
Describe a time when you’ve seen someone act in faith. What did it look like?
Read Luke 7: 1-10. A centurion, someone who was a Roman military officer and was not Hebrew. He did not feel like he could ask for something from Jesus because he was an outsider to the faith. How does Jesus respond to him?
Why is it shocking that Jesus says “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.”? (Luke 7:9) What does this tell us about the nature of faith?
Read Luke 7:36-50. Why do you think this sinful woman would have shown up at this Pharisees house where Jesus was eating?
Compare the responses of Jesus and Simon the Pharisee, as they encounter this sinful woman who comes into their presence. How does Jesus view the situation differently? What does this tell us about the nature of faith and forgiveness?

Kyler and Cris got to have a great weekend at the Meddle and High School gathering.
This week in our study of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, we explored the core message that God is light and love, which led to a profound discussion on the Christian hope of resurrection in the face of death and suffering.
The essence of true Christian living: recognizing that God owns everything and has freely given us Christ’s transformation, moving us away from the "Rich Fool's" selfish materialism toward the cheerful and shared stewardship of all our resources.
Shifting focus from the temple as a static building, the freely shared reality is that God desires to dwell among us, using our diverse and imperfect gifts as the very means to make His presence known for the benefit of all.
Our masks aren’t just signs of embarrassment; they’re declarations of independence from God.
