Watch Last Weeks Sermon.
Wait eating Raisin Bread is a sin? Check out the wild story of Hosea and see how amazing God's love is for us.
Hosea was a prophet with a rough home life. God has put him in a situation where he has to constantly show forgiveness, even when it is difficult. God has put him there to show us His grace.

ARE YOU WILLING TO BE SENT WHERE FEW CAN SEE YOU?
She was elderly and wore a lavender cardigan. She gripped my arm more firmly than I thought she could. She said she had something she wanted to tell me.
I had just preached a Pentecost Sunday sermon about how the Holy Spirit commissions us all as missionaries, or sent ones, to alert others to the universal reign of God wherever we might find ourselves.
I had preached that all vocations offer us the opportunity to mirror the work of God in the world, whether it’s to bring healing or justice, reconciliation or wholeness, whether to design and build, or to serve and love. And I threw in references to a few random vocations like stay-at-home parents and lawyers and nurses and union officials and artists and builders and teachers.

Good Article about Being the Church
Adventure Is Good. But Planting Roots Is Essential
“To be rooted is perhaps the most important and least recognized need of the human soul. It is one of the hardest to define. A human being has roots by virtue of his real, active and natural participation in the life of a community which preserves in living shape certain particular treasures of the past and certain particular expectations for the future.” – Simone Weil
Simone Weil, 20th century philosopher and writer, penned these words in the midst of a global war, yet poignant and true they remain today. In our globalizing, urbanizing world, roots to a place can be seen as unwanted tethers. Still, without ties to a community that preserves the “treasures of the past and certain particular expectations for the future,” in what are we rooted?

New Sermon Series - The Minor Leagues
We'll be discussing one minor prophet each Sunday for the next several weeks. This week is Hosea.
Read Before the Sermon!
Beginning this Sunday, we will be studying one minor prophet's book each week as the sermon text. You're encouraged to read the book ahead of time in preparation for Sunday.
Listen to Hosea with the Church
As a group, we will gather each Thursday at 11:00 in the sanctuary to hear a dramatized reading of each week's book. This week we'll be reading Hosea. All are invited!
Laid-Back Bike Ride
We're biking again as a church family this Saturday, June 24, beginning at Grace at 8:30 am. Last time we biked 6 miles at 9 miles per hour. If this matches your speed/distance preference or you know someone who would like to come, see you there!
Women's Community Group Bible Study Inaugural Sunday
If reading and discussion of Scripture and praying together as a small group of women interests you, please join Leigh and Coli this Sunday, June 25 at 7:00 at Leigh's house as we begin a new women's community group. Hearing Loop System
We are a Hearing Loop enabled church!
Coming on March 10th
Our Church
Now offers a Hearing Loop
for hearing aid users and cochlear implant wearers
With the flip of the hearing aid’s telecoil switch, any sound between a speaker on a podium and the listener in the sanctuary is eliminated, allowing the hearing aid user to hear the speaker clearly and without background noise.
Hearing loop systems take sound straight from the sound system and deliver it right into the listener’s hearing and without extraneous background noise without having to pick up a separate listening device.
Do you wear hearing aids? All the user needs to do is switch his or her hearing aid or cochlear implant to the “T”, telephone, or hearing loop program. All but the very smallest modern hearing aids tend to be supplied with this internalt-coil or telecoil. However, it may not have been activated when the device was originally programmed. ? Be sure you know if your aid has a T-coil, and if it is automatically switched on in proper environments or if you need to turn it on (with a switch) when needed. (Look in your hearing aid instruction book or ask your hearing aid provider if need be).
Special thanks to Joe Dashiell ofFlorida Hearing Loops, LLC, a certified installer and provider, for information and help getting looped, and to www.loopwisconsin.com for the church information wording.

Singing For Joy!
Let's put together a worship team that can learn new songs and help the congregation to learn them too. The beauty of this idea is that we can do it with just 2 or 3 or with more, if more are willing.

If you are like me, you love the hymns that you grew up singing; I believe these songs fill an emotional and spiritual need in us. As we look to the future it seems that to meet the emotional and spiritual needs of members raised in the 70's, 80's, 90's and beyond that we should include more of the hymns that these worshipers grew up singing. Obviously, we have many of these songs already in our song lists. However, there are many that could be added; songs with beautiful words, easy songs that we could include in our worship.
I know that as a group you folks have your own thoughts and ideas and I would like your help in figuring out how this could work. My hope would be that we can have a great time singing. Would Jan. 31 at 10:00 a.m. work for us to discuss how we should proceed ? Let me know if you will at least attend to discuss the idea. Suggest an alternative time if you want. Thanks for giving this your prayerful consideration.
Yours in Christ,
Cindy
ps Please don't think that I want to stop singing songs from our beautiful Lutheran heritage. There will always be a place for beautiful hymns like What a Friend We Have in Jesus; Holy, Holy, Holy; Beautiful Savior; How Great Thou Art; and the like. There are so many hymns that must be passed down to future generations.
If you are interested Please fill out the form bellow.
