Church in this part of Haiti is different than what we are used to at Grace Lutheran PSL.
Their Sunday runs much of the day with food and celebration. Right now, when people are enjoying the body of Christ, they must travel to a tree blind to use the bathroom. Not to mention when out-of-towners visit this church there is nowhere close to use the facilities.
This is a photo of the Main Church we work with in Haiti and where the bathroom will be.
As you can see from the photos this church is a humble building. But it is a beacon of love and service in its community. On a typical sunday they will have around 100 poeple in attendance.
Pastor Bruno Lexene (pictured) works with Habitat for children ministries to serve his community.
This is the same community the “Girls” came from.
Most of the people who live in this community do not have bathrooms themselves. Many of their homes are on our project list at HFCM to build a kitchen and bathroom.
Photo at Pastor Bruno Lexene House.
You can tell its a pastors house becasue its set up as the community hangout. 10 Min walk to the church
Yes they worship 90 to 100 people a week here.

Photos of King Tut Exhibit - Tons of Fun
We Visited the King Tut Exhibit on April 30th
April 30 - Grace Tons of Fun gathering - visit to the Elliot Museum - King Tut exhibit.
We had about 22 people signed up, but a couple of conflicts came up. Another couple joined us at last minute in addition.
We gathered at the museum and met Barbara, the docent assigned to lead our tour. The King Tut exhibit includes replicas of actual artifacts. It was mentioned that the exhibit had been on tour decades earlier. Some of our Grace group mentioned that they may have seen this exhibit years earlier, some as far back as 40 years ago.
The docent provided lots of background on the period and artifacts. I believe we learned a lot and several of us came away with some areas of additional self research.
As the King Tut tour was winding down some of the Grace group started visiting other parts of the museum. Eventually others joined them. The car collection and display area was a hit. It has a car jukebox like display system that brings individual cars down from the collection for front and center viewing.
Shortly after that, 9 of us decide to break for lunch at the tiki cafe which is just outside the museum. I think we were all surprised how good the food was.
The weather cleared as we were eating and we decided to take a short stroll across the beach parking area to take a look at the Seaside Cafe and the Stuart beach.
Shortly after that we decided to say good bye. It was nice that we had some blue sky and beautiful view of the ocean as a bonus on our outing.
Above are a few photos from the visit.

ELLIOTT MUSEUM ADDRESS
825 NE Ocean Boulevard
Stuart, FL 34996
“As my eyes grew accustomed to the light, details of the room within emerged slowly from the mist, strange animals, statues, and gold – everywhere the glint of gold…when Lord Carnarvon, unable to stand the suspense any longer, inquired anxiously, ‘Can you see anything?’ it was all I could do to get out the words, ‘Yes, wonderful things.’” – Howard Carter
The Elliott Museum will open our doors on January 3, 2024, to a wonderous scene in much the same fashion as Howard Carter did on November 26, 1922, 100 years ago. In collaboration with Tarek Ragab and the Egyptian Art Center in Cairo, we will be hosting “In Celebration of King Tut” in the museum’s main gallery.
We intend to do all we can to transform our modern museum space into an ancient tomb of unimaginable beauty. These remarkable objects have been painstakingly recreated by historians and artists in Egypt using locally sourced, authentic materials and scaled and finished to perfection. The impact of standing amidst these objects will be something you will long remember. We were fortunate to secure the exhibit for a five-month run which will afford everyone a January to May window opportunity to take it all in.
ALL EXHIBITS ARE INCLUDED WITH REGULAR ADMISSIONS
