ELLIOTT MUSEUM ADDRESS
825 NE Ocean Boulevard
Stuart, FL 34996

“As my eyes grew accustomed to the light, details of the room within emerged slowly from the mist, strange animals, statues, and gold – everywhere the glint of gold…when Lord Carnarvon, unable to stand the suspense any longer, inquired anxiously, ‘Can you see anything?’ it was all I could do to get out the words, ‘Yes, wonderful things.’” – Howard Carter

The Elliott Museum will open our doors on January 3, 2024, to a wonderous scene in much the same fashion as Howard Carter did on November 26, 1922, 100 years ago. In collaboration with Tarek Ragab and the Egyptian Art Center in Cairo, we will be hosting “In Celebration of King Tut” in the museum’s main gallery.

We intend to do all we can to transform our modern museum space into an ancient tomb of unimaginable beauty. These remarkable objects have been painstakingly recreated by historians and artists in Egypt using locally sourced, authentic materials and scaled and finished to perfection. The impact of standing amidst these objects will be something you will long remember. We were fortunate to secure the exhibit for a five-month run which will afford everyone a January to May window opportunity to take it all in.

ALL EXHIBITS ARE INCLUDED WITH REGULAR ADMISSIONS

[Sunday] Judge Deborah - His Eyes The Book of Judges

When Israel strays, a ruthless warlord named Sisera emerges, leaving a trail of terror.  But hope flickers in the unlikeliest places: God raises up a prophetess named Deborah and a seemingly ordinary woman, Jael, who, together, hold the key to a surprising, victory-clinching act.

QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK:   His Eyes: The Book of Judges - Judge Deborah

  1. Describe a time when someone surprised you by doing a great thing when you didn’t expect much from them.

  2. Read Judges 4 and 5.  How does God deliver His people in an unlikely way?

  3. We can see that God is working through the weak and unexpected. Can you think of a time in your own life when you felt weak or unqualified, yet God used you in a surprising way? How can we be more open to seeing God working in unexpected ways?

  4. We see that God's victory is already secure through Jesus. How can this concept change the way we approach challenges and relationships in our lives?

[Sunday] Ehud Left - His Eyes The Book of Judges

This week's judges cycle: we meet Ehud, the crippled lefty who reminds us that God's power shines brightest in weakness.

This week's judges cycle: we meet Ehud, the crippled lefty who reminds us that God's power shines brightest in weakness.

QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK:   His Eyes: The Book of Judges - Indistinguishable

  1. There is a consistent cycle in the book of Judges - rebellion, oppression, and then deliverance. Have you ever experienced a similar cycle in your own life? How can we break free from this cycle?

  2. Read Judges Chapter 3. We see how God uses a seemingly weak and “left-handed” person, Ehud, as a judge. What are some of the ways we define strength today? How does the story of Ehud challenge these definitions?

  3. We often try to hide our weaknesses. Can you share a time when you felt weak or vulnerable? How did you deal with it?

  4. Read 2 Corinthians 12:1-10.  Connect the story of Ehud to the concept of God’s power being made perfect in weakness. What does this concept mean to you? Can you think of any other examples from the Bible or your own life that illustrate this concept?

The Bible Study from last year.

[Sunday] Indistinguishable - His Eyes The Book of Judges

The book of Judges isn't a straight line but a cycle. Redemption and rebellion echo, reminding us how easily we stray. Prepare to see yourselves in the Israelites' struggles, becoming indistinguishable to the culture around us.

QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK:   His Eyes: The Book of Judges - Indistinguishable

  1. Read Judges 2:6-23.  The book of Judges talks about a cycle the Israelites fall into. Can you identify the different stages of this cycle? How does this cycle relate to our own lives and the challenges we face?

  2. The sermon mentions how easy it is to become indistinguishable from the culture around us. What are some ways this can happen in your daily life? How can we stay true to our values even when pressured to conform?

  3. What does Jesus offer us that the judges in the book of Judges could not? How can faith in Jesus help us break free from cycles of sin and self-destruction?

  4. Do you see living among non-believers as a problem, a possibility, or both?  How can you live a good life among non-believers today?

The Bible Study from last year.

His Eyes - The Book of Judges

[Sunday] Easter Peace - Comfort Comfort

Even with the glorious news of Christ's resurrection, the disciples remained hidden, burdened by their actions. Yet, Christ arrives, a beacon of hope and unreserved comfort, offering peace in the midst of their doubt.

Even with the glorious news of Christ's resurrection, the disciples remained hidden, burdened by their actions. Yet, Christ arrives, a beacon of hope and unreserved comfort, offering peace in the midst of their doubt.

QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK:   Comfort Comfort: Easter Peace

  1. Can you think of a time you hid from something difficult? What was it, and how did you eventually move forward?

  2. Read John 20:1-23.  The disciples were hiding after the resurrection.  Why do you think they might be hiding, even though they know Jesus has risen?

  3. Jesus shows up not hiding anything, leading with his wounds.  How does the concept of Jesus’ sacrifice and his wounds change the way you view forgiveness and comfort that comes from Jesus?

  4. Jesus encourages us to forgive others.  Filled with the Spirit of Christ, how can you bring that peace and forgiveness to others?

[Sunday] Hosanna - Comfort Comfort

As Palm Sunday dawns, confusion swirls around Jesus' identity and mission.  Jesus' final prayer is a plea for God's continued protection and unity amidst His followers' trials.  This all foreshadows the sacrifice that will ultimately bring oneness through His resurrection.

Update from Haiti. Letter, Photos, CBS Miami

Here is a Email Meschac sent to pastor about what is going on in Haiti.

Here is a Email Meschac sent to pastor about what is going on in Haiti.

The 3 videos are from CBS Miami who flew to Haiti with Meschac. Top Video is the best.

Information about my travels

On Tuesday, March 19th, Missionary Flights International carried 4 passengers, including myself from the United States to Haiti. As there is so much turmoil in Haiti at this time, the flight experienced turbulence for the entire 4 and half hour trip giving us a preview of what was to come. We landed safely in Cap Haitien to clear through customs and then continued our journey to our final destination in Pignon, Haiti. Unfortunately, people here are starving. I am grateful to MFI because I had an opportunity to bring in some ramen noodles, dry milk, peanut butter and medical supplies for 100 people but it's just not enough. The people all over Haiti are struggling because of the violence in Port au Prince. It has blocked aid and everyday necessities from getting to small villages because there is no gas to travel. Staple products such as rice, beans and oil are too expensive to buy when they are available so families are going without.

Habitat For Children Ministries is about 3 and half hours from the capital of Port au Prince but we are feeling the effects through the widespread hunger. We know that we can't feed everyone but the more help that we can get, the better the people of Haiti will be. I have been talking with people in the United States for future food shipments but the Haitian families need help now. We at Habitat want to continue our efforts in helping as much as we can for as long as needed because we know of the political hardships that continuously affect this country.

Habitat for Children On the News

Great news report on what is happening in Haiti

Great article about What we are doing in Haiti

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. —

As so many people scrambled to leave Haiti, a Port St. Lucie man fought to get himself back in.

Meschac St Amour is a native Haitian who now lives on the Treasure Coast.

He is the president of a Port St. Lucie organization called Habitat for Children Ministries, which serves children in Haiti.

Port St Lucie nonprofit struggling to get supplies to children in Haiti

St Amour was able to get a missionary flight to Haiti on Tuesday, expecting the worst when he landed.

He said he still wasn’t prepared for what he found.

“It’s much worse than what I was thinking,” he said.

St Amour brought with him supplies for the country, including 1,500 pounds of food.

He is carefully giving it away where it’s most needed, though he had planned to share it with everyone.

“It can’t work like that. That’s what we were hoping,” St Amour said. “But it can’t work like that. Because right now, you’re going to start something you can’t finish.”

St Amour said his village is far away from the Haitian capital of Port au Prince.

That’s where the majority of the violence has been over the last several weeks.

St Amour said there’s no violence where he is, but they are still suffering.

“A shortage of food, gas,” he said. “Anything you can think of to feed a family.”

St Amour said most people are unable to find medicine or medical care.

These shortages are why he left the Treasure Coast to return to Haiti.

He said he wants to help however he can until Haiti can once again recover.

“Haiti is not going to die,” he said. “There’s some that are going to believe in it, and some that are not going to believe. But I believe one day, Haiti is going to come back.”

St Amour is asking those who want to help to do so through his organization’s website.
